Collier County Domestic Animal Services has partnered with DocuPet to provide an enhanced pet licensing experience for Collier County pet guardians. DocuPet specializes in creating pet licensing programs that put the pet first. By making sure every pet's license tag has the ability to help them get home safe, there's more reasons than ever before to make sure your pet is licensed and always wearing their county tag (nevermind the fact that it's the law!). And with so many fun tag styles to choose from, you'll definitely find something perfect for your pal.
Licensing is Mandatory.
Did you know pet licenses are required in nearly every city and county across North America? Licensing plays an important role in ensuring the proper resources are in place to care for everyone in the community - this includes our children, our pets, and us. It's in large part thanks to those pet owners who license their pets that the county is able to provide critical animal welfare and protection services including animal protection officers and local shelters.
The fact of the matter is pets get out, they get sick, and unfortunately not every animal gets along with other pets or people. A license allows county officials and your fellow citizens to identify an animal, contact their guardian, and make decisions that are in the best interest of the pet and the community.
Fees and Fines
There’s no ifs ands or buts about it, licenses are required for all dogs and cats living in Collier County. They must be renewed prior to the expiration date regardless if they hold a one year or three year license (don’t worry, we’ll remind you!).
Failure to present a valid license or valid rabies certificate may result in a citation of $100.
Please note that Collier County's licensing program operates on a 365 day cycle. This means that all licenses expire on exactly the day they were purchased, one or three years in the future depending on the term of the license purchased. Note that a valid rabies vaccination is required at all times in order for your pet's county license to be considered valid.
A valid rabies certificate is required to complete the licensing process. You must upload or present your certificates at time of purchase.
